How tight should pants be?
Coast fashion uses a small percentage of organic or sustainable fabrics and recycled materials in its clothing, but the majority of its clothes are made from natural without relevant certifications, such as cotton or linen, or synthetic petroleum-based fibres like polyester or nylon. It uses animal-derived materials such as leather, sheepskin, angora, silk and down feathers in some of its clothing, which is cruel and unnecessary.
Coast has a’sustainable collection’ called Ready For The Future, which it advertises as being ‘20% or more sustainably sourced materials’ but which is unclear whether this is an accurate assessment of sustainability or just a form of greenwashing. It also uses some of the same fabrics in this collection that it uses across all its clothing, so it is not clear whether these have been assessed separately for their impact.
